Safely Shutting Down the System

Overview

This guide explains how to shut down the TimeTracker RX server.

When stopping the server for maintenance work such as version upgrades or server migrations, you can safely shut down the system by blocking user access.

This eliminates the risk of the database being modified during maintenance work.

This function allows administrators to safely perform TimeTracker RX maintenance without incurring any risks.

Stopping the System

Server Operations

  1. On the TimeTracker RX Admin screen, click "System Operation" in the global navigation.
  2. Click "Maintenance" from the left-hand menu.
  3. Click the "Stop" button on the Maintenance screen.
  4. In the system stop confirmation dialog, check "Yes, stop the system" and click the "OK" button.
  5. The system status will be displayed on the screen, and once the process is complete, a completion confirmation dialog will appear.
  6. Stop IIS from the IIS Manager to complete the system stop.

User Screen During System Stop

When TimeTracker RX is stopped using this function, the user will see the TimeTracker RX maintenance screen,
and will be unable to operate TimeTracker RX.

Restarting the System

To start the system, start IIS.
Starting IIS will also start TimeTracker RX and display the normal login screen.

Checking Server Job Status

When problems occur with TimeTracker RX, it is necessary to check the processing load on the server.
For this purpose, the maintenance screen allows you to check the number of processes (jobs) running in the background.

  • Clicking the "Refresh" button will update to the latest information.
  • Clicking "Job Details Here" will allow you to view detailed job information.
This information can be used as part of server monitoring, as shown below:
    • How long have the jobs been accumulating?
    • Estimated time required to process the jobs
