About the sample database

Overview

About the sample database

When you install TimeTracker NX, if you create an empty database, you will need to set up TimeTracker NX from scratch.

We have prepared a "sample database" for those who want to use TimeTracker NX right away.

  • Users and projects are already set up.
  • The achievements of registered users are also entered.

Here, we will introduce the information that those who use the sample database should know.

User

You will need an account and password to log in to TimeTracker NX.

  • Account
    • We have prepared "okamoto" as the system administrator (user who can perform all operations).
    • Users other than those mentioned above can be confirmed from the screen of the following link.
      "Help - Define a user"
  • Password
    • No passwords have been set for the users in the sample database, so you can log in with the password field blank.
    • If you want to set a password, log in as the target user and change it using the procedure in the following link.
      "Change password"
Please check that the number of registered users does not exceed the number of licenses. If it does, delete the user using the procedure in the following link.

Basic operations

You can check the operation using the following method.

Entering Actual Results

Log in to TimeTracker NX as "okamoto" and open the timesheet.

  • Make sure you can enter actual results in the timesheet.
Try out the operation of copying actual results and changing time.
  • Make sure the data you entered is reflected in the quick report.

Editing a Project

S Equipment Development Project

  • Try operating the Gantt Table/Gantt Chart.
    • If you have created a WBS in Excel, copy it and paste it into TimeTracker NX.
If you do not have it, download the Excel below and try it.
      "WBS Sample"
    • You can also paste using the WBS template.
  • Display the resource planner and select the date you want to check.
  • Check the status of milestones and items on a monthly basis with an overview in the calendar view.

U Product Development Project

Try the Kanban/Burndown operation.

  • The Sprint1 and Sprint2 folders are complete, and the Sprint3 folder is in progress.
  • Move items and enter man-hours on the Kanban board, and check that they are reflected in the WBS.

    • Select "Deployment for SI equipment project launch" for the resource and display the period for the last two weeks.
    • Make sure that items can be moved according to the member's load.

Analysis

Log in as "okamoto" and open the analysis.

  • Cross-project
Open the "Development Division 1" view and make sure that the status of the target project is listed.

Further Use

After checking the basic operation, try making changes to simulate actual operation.

Change User Information and Organization

Let's try adding users, system roles, and organizations.

Project Management

  • Integration with Excel
    • Install the Excel integration add-in included in the installer on the client PC.
      • This is a client PC with Excel installed, not a server.
    • Output TimeTracker NX information to Excel.
Please download the sample report from the link below.
      "Excel Link Sample (./document/schedule_report.xlsx)"
  • Requirement/Defect Management
    • Please refer to the folder below in the S Equipment Development Project.
You can see that the item details are different from the items that are being managed, and can be changed to suit your purpose.
      • Requirement Management: Requirement
      • Defect Management: Defect
    • You can also create a defect management form by outputting directly under the defect folder to Excel.
      • Please output the "Defect" table using Excel Link.
      • Please download the sample Excel from the link below.
        "Defect Management Form Sample (./document/bug_management.xlsx)"
  • Security by Item
    • It is also possible to block access to only certain folders within a project.
    • Please refer to the folder below "Autonomous Driving Application" in the S Equipment Development Project.
Permissions are granted to specific members.

Log in as "okamoto" and open "Search".

  • Click on the search criteria in the item folder of your work or project.
