Requirements for the Evaluation Version

Overview​

To use the TimeTracker RX evaluation version, you need to prepare the following:

  • Server machine: Please prepare one of the following environments:
    • Windows Server OS
    • Windows OS
  • Client PC with a browser installed
    • If you use Windows OS for the server machine, you can use the same PC.
For PC specifications, please refer to "Operating Environment".

This page provides instructions for each OS used for the server machine.

Using Windows Server OS​

For installation instructions, please refer to "TimeTracker RX Setup Guide".

Important Notes: Regarding SQL Server​

  • To use TimeTracker RX, you will need SQL Server to manage the database.
    The TimeTracker RX installer includes SQL Server Express, so you do not need to prepare it separately.
  • SQL Server Express is a free version with functional limitations; therefore, please use the paid version of SQL Server for formal operation.

When using Windows OS​

For those who find it difficult to prepare a paid Windows Server OS for evaluation purposes,
We offer the following two methods for building an environment on Windows OS:

  1. Build a TimeTracker RX environment using Docker on Windows OS
  2. Install TimeTracker RX directly on Windows OS

If you are not using Windows Server OS, we recommend using Docker.

Building a TimeTracker RX Environment Using Docker on Windows OS​

You can easily build the environment by running a batch file.
You don't need to worry about SQL Server, etc.
For details, please refer to Docker in "First Step Guide: Server Configuration Setup".

Installing TimeTracker RX Directly on Windows OS​

The detailed procedure is as follows:

  1. Install IIS.
    1. From [Control Panel] - [Programs] - [Programs and Features], click "Turn Windows features on or off".
    2. Enable the following items from the list and click OK.
      [Internet Information Services] - [World Wide Web Services] - [Application Development Functions] - The following:
  2. Install TimeTracker RX following the instructions in "TimeTracker RX Setup Guide".

Notes on Direct Installation on Windows OS​

The following points should be noted, so we recommend using Docker.

  • Regarding the number of simultaneous PC connections to TimeTracker RX

    • Windows OS has a limitation of 20 simultaneous connections due to OS specifications.
      This connection includes devices such as mice and keyboards.
    • Therefore, if multiple people connect simultaneously, it may become impossible to connect to TimeTracker RX.

  • Regarding support

    • It can only be used as a server for evaluation purposes.
      This is not included in the official operational guarantee for the official version.
    • We may not be able to support problems caused by the environment using Windows OS. When officially installing, please prepare the following environment:
      • Windows Server OS
      • Docker

  • Regarding Windows versions
    The TimeTracker RX installer is only compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows OS.

It cannot be installed on 32-bit versions of Windows OS.
